Mon 3-14-2016. Onsite safety meeting with asbestos crew, supervisor, manager, 2nd manager, safety consultant, plumber. The meeting was successful. Infrared gun showed temperature 95 degrees. But the plumber, there to open the cover, pointed out the temperature varies and could be higher. This is a better entry than manhole at loading dock but you crawl 300 feet to the work. The major hazard is heat and restricted space in the tube in the steam tunnel. Fans are to blow air positive pressure into the workzone where risk of asbestos release is low using glovebags and wet methods. Opportunity to use our new air monitors in case a vehicle idles near manhole. Logistics to get 8 foot sections of pipe to the square opening and out. Last week's meeting. To start Mon 3-21-2016.

Assemble and install two 6-ft benches at First Year Dorms and the Berlin Wall.

Vacuum floor at Landscape Shop.

Attend Safety Committee meeting. A new system of safety checklists is coming to your I-phone. A new category is "Near Miss". I suggested a catch-all category for miscellaneous to include allergic reaction to polyethylene Tyvek protective suits like I had 5 years ago. The industry is shifting to polypropylene.
