Sat 5-14-2016. Steam tunnel shutdown. What heat stress looks like. Blood flows to skin as body tries to shed heat. In the morning (A) was completed. But (B) the medium lines were not shut down. I did half until I was too weak from the heat. I returned in the evening to finish while crews were still working, air and pipes cooled. My clothes became soaked with sweat but that was from the labor.


Fri 5-13-2016. Steam Tunnel Point 16. Prepare for 5 a.m. shutdown. Air temperature 135 Fahrenheit. Danger Scale 4 Extreme.

Private Clinics 2nd floor. Bring to completion clean-up from pipe burst one week ago.

Wed 5-11-2016. Help Sign Shop. Install sign.

Private Clinics. Continue cleaning, HEPA vac, wipe with Pledge, replace ceiling tiles.

Mon 5-9-2016. Thornton Hall roof.

Private Clinics. Clean up from burst pipe Friday night.

5 a.m. Shutdown Sat 5-14-2016.

Thu 4-7-2016. Steam Tunnel 16 Points at Garrett/Batten sidewalk above McIntire Amphitheater. For 5 a.m shutdown Sat May 14. Go down ladder, turn around to face amphitheater. Right a few steps is A. From A go left a hundred feet to B. From A go right hundred feet to C where the tunnel splits. (A) Remove asbestos pipe insulation, tar paper, tie wires from major steam line using over-sized glovebags. Patch at least one open end. Linear feet 6 1/2. Circumference 5 feet 4 inches. (B) 2 medium lines a couple feet. 1 small line 8 ft. Patch exposed asbestos insulation. (C) Patch/repair/clean up working area near where flashlight shines. Might not be asbestos. Okay to sample. Still wants the cleanup. A and B must be completed at the same time so next crew can enter. Glovebags should be hung and preparations the day before. C must be completed prior to day of shutdown.

(Postponed: Fri 5-6-2016. Zehmer Hall cracked window glazing.)

Mon 5-23-2016. Day after graduation. Scheduled off since last year.
